Ratings and comments are taken from a post-trip survey they completed.

Hotel Accomodations Rating and Comments:  (scale 1 - 5, 5 being the best)
Mary & Doug rated everything a 5
Room Size: Plenty to room, large bath, all rooms have a balcony
Room Amenities: In-room safe, hair dryer, mini-bar
Hotel Service: Efficient and friendly, no language problems
Hotel Restuarant: All were delicious, the Mikado never ceases to impress me.  A special treat was the Los Mangos deli with great sandwiches and desserts.
Hotel Amenities: Infinity pool with swim up bar is lovely, the grounds (with gardens, wildlife and stream) are great.
Hotel Entertainment: Even thought we were there in the off-season, they had many events going on including games, music and sports.
Hotel Location: The Marina Vallarta area offers the best of  all worlds, great views of the city, Sierra Madre mountains and Banderas Bay, the Marina is an easy walk, the airport is minutes away, 15 minute taxi to town.
Over-all satisfaction with the hotel: This was our second visit and they continue to impress me.

Optional Sight-seeing Tours:
City Tour through Olympus Tours
Booked through the hotel concierge
Would you recommend this tour to others? YES!
"Took the City Tour that included walking tour of town, the Malecon, the Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, elegant and regular homes, and into the rainforest."

Touring on their own:
"We took the taxi into town, prices are fixed and they do not try to rip you off.  The only thing I warn anyone about is the influx of time-share sales people... they are now in stores and restaurants also.  Just say 'no thanks' and keep moving."

What is ONE THING in your opinion, that everyone traveling to this destination should do/see?
The Malecon is the walkway in town along the bay, it is where many geat sculptures are and you can rest and look out at the bay.  Musical performances here also.  Many shops and restaurants nearby.

Over-all satisfaction with the trip:
"5!!  This was our second trip and just as enjoyable as the first,  I highly recommend this warm and friendly destination!"
