Hotel/Resort Accommodations

Hotel: The Signature at MGM

Please rate the following and add any comments (Scale of 1 – 5… 5 being the best, 1 being the worst):
Size of the room:          5          Comments:  The room was 550 sq ft with a nice size sitting area, and a large balcony.  The bathroom was very large.

Room Amenities:          5          Comments:  HD Plasma TV in room, high end kitchen appliances, Jacuzzi tub, nice size standing shower, Italian tile in wet areas, Marble counter top in kitchen and bathroom, June Jacobs spa products in bathroom.

Service:                        5          Comments:  Every time we had to call the front desk (room safe was locked when we got the room, needed Ethernet cable), we had someone solve our issue within 15 minutes.  Room service was on time when we ordered in advance.

Restaurants:                 4          Comments:  The only places to eat at the hotel were a Starbucks and a lounge.  The Starbucks had gourmet cream cheese spreads and pastries.  We had very easy access to all the restaurants at the MGM (covered and air conditioned moving sidewalks the entire way to the MGM).

Amenities (pool, common areas): 4             Comments:  The pool was average size, but we had access to the pools at the MGM (we were actually closer to the pools at the MGM then the guests at the MGM).  The hotel lobby was very upscale.

Entertainment: N/A      Comments:  No entertainment available at the hotel, but again, easy access to everything at the MGM.

Hotel Location:             5          Comments:      The hotel is located on a side road, just off Las Vegas Blvd, so we didn’t have to deal with the hassle of driving on Las Vegas Blvd.  The hotel has only valet parking, and the longest we had to wait for the car was less than 5 minutes.

Over-all Satisfaction:     5          Comments:  The hotel was wonderful!!!  We had a Jr Suite (the lowest quality available at the hotel), and it was amazing.  We loved it so much, I don’t think I will be able to stay at a different hotel next time we go.

Did you explore any of the surrounding area/towns on your own?  If so, please explain how (rented car, bus, taxi), where did you go, what did you do and would you recommend other travelers do this?

We had a rental car the entire time we were in Vegas.  One day we took a trip to the Hoover Dam, another day we went to Red Rock Canyon.  The drive to the Hoover Dam was very nice (It was nice for someone from Florida to see real mountains!).  We took the Dam tour, which takes you inside the Dam (down about 700 feet).  Red Rock Canyon was beautiful.  We stopped and went hiking at a couple of points.  It was a wonderful experience.

What is the ONE THING, in your opinion, that everyone traveling to this destination should do/see?

Walk the strip at least once, stopping to see the Bellagio fountains at night and the Volcano at the Mirage..

Over-All Satisfaction

Please rate your over-all vacation experience (Scale of 1 – 5… 5 being the best, 1 being the worst), and explain why:

5 – The hotel was great and the city was a lot bigger than I imagined.  Everything was so busy, but there are spots that you can relax and just take it all in.  We can’t wait to go back!!!
