Hotel Accomodations Rating and Comments: (scale 1 - 5, 5 being the best)
Room Size: 3
Amenities: 3
Service: 3
Restaurants: 3, all buffets had the same food. There were three specialty restaurants. One was a Mexican buffet, one
was Caribbean and VERY good, and we didn't go to the other.
Pool/common areas: 4- There is one large, main pool and 2 other smaller ones. They are nice, but them main one runs
out of chairs.
Enterainment: 4- There are staff at the pool and beach teaching dances, leading aerobics, and entertaining all day.
If you don't mind the noise, it is nice to have things to watch and listen to- they are quite funny. There are also nightly
shows.
Location: 3, Punta Cana doesn't have a town, so there wasn't anything by us. The hotels are all spread out.
Hotel over-all: 3-4, There was a major lack of English. Since there wasn't a town, there wasn't much to do.
Tours: We went on the 4-wheelers excursion, where we saw the only public beach in Punta Cana and went to a cave with
a man-made pool. We also went to Saona Island- we took a 2-hour bus ride to a speed boat that took us to the island. I would
recommend both. When we arrived at the airport, we were told to find the Turinter sign and they would take us to our hotel.
We did that and they told us that our travel representative would meet us on our hotel lobby the next day but no one ever
showed up. So we had to set up our excursions and departure transfer on our own, which was a little inconvenient.
Did you explore any of the area on your own? We went to the only restaurant on the beach that wasn't part of
our hotel, Jelly Fish. I would recommend it. It is not part of the all-inclusive, but it was nice to get some different food
that was actually REALLY good. The restaurant has a great view also.
Vacation Overall: 3-4. Due to the poverty in Dominican, it seems as though the hotels are not as nice as Mexico. As
I said before, there is definitely a lack of English, and it seemed that their Spanish was different than in Mexico. The hotel
was good for relaxing but there wasn't much to do if you are looking to get wild.
